Mary is the perfect mix of sweet and savage. She somehow makes workouts that completely kick our butts… fun.
After my knee surgery, I was nervous to get back into it, but she helped me rebuild my strength safely and confidently. She pushed me when I needed it and supported me every step of the way.
Somewhere between the squats and the “just one more rep” lies, we became friends. Now I genuinely look forward to every session — not just for the workout, but for our chats and all the laughs.
She’s created a space that’s welcoming, supportive, and still challenges you to level up. I’m stronger, healthier, and happier because of her.
Love you, Mary đź’Ş

I attended the July 5, 2025 Grand Opening of Shuswap Fitness Gym. With high hopes for myself, I signed up for an entire year. From July to December, I only visited a few times a month. I never felt experienced enough to try much beyond riding the stationary bike for 20 minutes, and then I would immediately head out the door with my head down.
In December, Mary talked to me about the 90 Day Transformation program she was putting together to begin in January. I signed up, not knowing what was in store for me. I was just praying this would be the program that would finally boost my attendance and confidence at the gym.
Today, February 24, 2026, I feel like a new and improved woman.
When I go to the gym now, I try multiple cardio and weight machines. I still enjoy the stationary bike, but it’s no longer the only thing I do. I feel safe doing whatever my body is telling me to do when I walk through the doors. And now, when I leave, my head is held high.
My lifestyle has changed.
I go home after work for a few minutes to prepare myself for the gym, then I get myself up there before dinnertime. I average five days a week at the gym. On days I don’t make it in, I either follow a training video on YouTube at home or take advantage of the beautiful weather and go for a long walk outside. My body has made it very clear over these past seven weeks — it loves to move.
So many other changes have taken hold in my new lifestyle!

I love going to Shuswap Fitness Gym. It’s bright, clean, and welcoming. There are so many machines to choose from, no matter what kind of workout I want to do.
I’ve taken part in one of Mary’s bootcamps and WOW — what an amazing feeling it is to complete a full hour workout with all the fun and challenging stations she sets up. She definitely kicked my butt.
Mary is such an inspiration and is always willing to listen and help with anything I need. She is informative, motivating, and I love the videos she shares about nutrition and new workouts for the 90 Day Transformation. I highly recommend this program to anyone who feels stuck.
Although I’ve only been in the Transformation for seven weeks and haven’t seen massive changes in my weight or measurements yet, I understand that real change can take up to 90 days to truly show.
The biggest surprise so far hasn’t been physical — it’s the confidence I now feel in my mind and body, and how I carry myself. That confidence comes from consistently showing up for myself and making long-term changes that are specifically designed for me.
And that has made all the difference.

Going to the Shuswap Fitness Gym has helped us reconnect with our inner younger body that was screaming to get out. We ar stronger, happier, more nutritional smarter and have more energy. The people and atmosphere are awesome, friendly, supportive and knowledgeable.
We have and will continue to recommend the gym to others because everyone needs to be in better health no matter what age you are and they are a local business that should be supported. We are seniors and it even works for us so anyone can do this. We put off making this life change for way too long, always too busy or too tired. We are so thankful to Mary for the opportunity to get our energy and youth back. I am also thankful to my wife for the support as we both eat healthier and exercise. We see the difference and others do too.

After several months away from any type of fitness regime, I was nervous about returning to the gym, but Mary at Shuswap Fitness made it easy. She was patient, encouraging, and tailored workouts so I could rebuild safely without feeling overwhelmed. Mary greeted me with warmth and zero judgement she asked about my past routine and goals, then created a gentle, effective plan to rebuild strength and confidence. She corrected form kindly, adjusted intensity as I progressed, and celebrated the small wins that kept me motivated. The gym itself is tidy, equipment is in great shape, and the overall vibe is positive. Big thanks to Mary for helping me get back on track — highly recommend to anyone looking for a compassionate, results-focused trainer at a great facility. ”
I can hardly wait to get back in April when I return to the Shuswap!

How the gym has helped me me.... first off, I would like to thank Mary Casey for being such a great person and for making me feel comfortable. I think the gym is giving Garry and I back our mobility and possibly a longer life.
why would you recommend the gym.... well, I would recommend this gym because of the positivity that goes with joining. The gym is clean and has a lot of different machines to work with. It's also very close to our home and being in scotch creek is central for a lot of people.
What has changed in my life since starting..... before I started I had a hard time walking very far, climbing stairs or hills, even getting our of my chair was a challenge at times. With all of that going on I think I was becoming a little depressed as well. I have struggled with my weight for over 40 years now, going up and down with all the fad diets. I'm pretty sure I've tried them all. They all worked for a while but eventually I'd give up and get heavier every time. I think the gym has taught me to go for the long haul instead of the quick fix that never last. I'm sore as hell but feeling great. getting up and down, walking and even climbing stairs is so much easier now. I do have a way to go but this time I feel like I will succeed especially with the friends I've made and all the encouragement that I have received.
Classes...... I haven't tried any of the classes yet, I was going to do one of the classes but had a bit of a panic attack and just did a regular work out. I was very disappointed with myself for not trying but once the panic set in I just couldn't. I'm a bit self-conscious about my body at times and being around all those young girls and their young bodies just set it off.
what surprised me....... well, I'm very surprised how much I enjoy the gym. I'm very happy that Garry is on this journey with me, it's easier to do with someone else.
What I love about the transformation program .... I think this program is great because it holds you responsible for showing up and doing the work. I love the book because it helps you keep track of your work outs and how many times you've been at the gym, and again the support that comes along with the program.
The next challenge... hmmm I think all of the challenges have been great. I think Mary is the professional and knows what would challenge people, I'm not sure I have an idea for this, I just hope it's not going to be push-ups lol. I do hope the new challenge in March will have a book with the coil in it.
